Though Behen Hogi Teri is a small town movie,it's audience reach is wide spread. Seldom do we get a ' perfect entertainer' whose scripting,performances and 'surprise' elements keep the viewers rooted to their seats.
The movie is a good source of entertainment for all those doing nothing this weekend and are looking for some sort of entertainment but not that good to go out of your way just to get a glimpse of this cliche rom-com. The movie was an average attempt to come up with a wholesome movie that could entertain us through this mundane weekend and by my surprise it was successful in achieving that. The transition from one scene to the other was just perfect and didn't bring any redundancy in the plot. The cast also consisted a lot of senior actors that tried to compensate for the incompetent plot. Shruti Hasan's bland expressions acted in her favour to make us believe that she was indeed a simple girl of a simple family. Rajkumar did a great job in portraying a common man and his best weapon was the fact that he couldn't do anything extraordinary unlike other protagonist he doesn't fight ten goons to protect his love but like a common man tries much more realistic approach. Despite a dull plot you ought to appreciate the acting of the male and female protagonist Shruti Hasan and Rajkumar Rao were pretty good in persuading the audience that they were in fact Gattu and Binny. After several persuasive methods the girl finally falls for the guy only to realise that now they have to disclose it to their families and then the entire movie revolves around how they both ruin everything up to reunite at the end and finally confess their love for each other publicly. Behen Hogi Teri is the perfect example of a cliche love story where an unemployed and unworthy guy of a very supportive and united neighbourhood falls for the girl next door and tries to woo her despite of the fact that she considers him just a friend. Repetitive plots have now become a signature of typical Bollywood.
